Shirley Grill is a leadership coach and consultant focusing on individual, interpersonal, team and organizational development. She brings expertise in leadership development, coaching, staffing and organizational design, employee relations and policy development.
Professional Expertise Shirley has more than twenty-five years of experience in business as a Human Resources Executive and a senior member of a corporate leadership team. Prior to forming Marlboro Park Consulting Group, Shirley was a partner at Whitehead Mann in the Leadership Development practice, preceded by her corporate work as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administrative Services with Atlantic Mutual Insurance Companies. At this national financial services company, she created a systematic approach for identifying and developing talent which was incorporated into a succession planning process. She designed and instituted peer coaching programs for high potential managers, which resulted in a more effective and committed management team.
Additional initiatives included cross functional communications programs for technology and business leaders, which resulted in greater speed and accuracy in the delivery of systems projects. Her staffing and organizational design efforts further reinforced the strategic focus of the corporation.
Specific Leadership Development Assignments
- Provided individual coaching to key members of an operating committee and provided counsel to the group in re-staffing the management team;
- Served as a key internal resource for the CEO and President in transforming an organization in response to significant business challenges;
- Created and managed the succession planning and talent identification process for a financial services company;
- Helped a senior team look at a GAP Analysis between their strategic leadership needs and current leadership ability;
- Designed and implemented a systemic leadership development process and program for a national commercial insurance company.
Previous Experience
Shirley has also worked with Macy’s New York as a Corporate Trainer and Manager of Macy’s management training program. While at Atlantic Mutual she was an active member of the Conference Board’s Council of Human Resources Executives. She is the Vice President of Administration of the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County and she serves on the Board of Education in Montclair, NJ. In 1998 she was recognized for her leadership in business and the community with the coveted New York City YWCA Woman Achiever award.

Partner: Joanne Enama
Joanne Enama is an experienced leadership consultant who specializes in individual and team development, executive and management coaching, organizational development, employee relations, and policy development and communication. Joanne’s success with clients comes from building relationships and offering creative, yet practical solutions.
Professional Expertise
Joanne has over 20 years experience in business in the Training and Development and Human Resources fields. She rose through the ranks at Atlantic Mutual Companies, a property and casualty insurance firm, achieving the position of AVP Employee Relations. Responsible for the field Human Resources function and the Training and Development team, Joanne built her businesses through strong relationships, integrity, and hard work. She was a respected member of the organization, providing customized solutions for individuals and work teams and developing policies that contributed to a productive and fair minded workplace.
Other contributions included the design and implementation of numerous organizational restructuring projects, strong project management skills, and effective employee communications intiatives. These interventions led to a flatter organization and economic gains. Joanne also provided leadership coaching and counseling on an ongoing basis to the organization’s managers and officers. Additionally, technical, managerial, and professional development structures were developed for the various businesses and for the company as a whole, providing the framework for a more highly skilled organization.

Previous Experience
Joanne also worked at Bamberger’s (now Macy’s) as a hands-on supervisor of various service departments and as a counselor and trainer. While at Bamberger’s, Joanne helped introduce technology to the buying line, increasing the buyers’ abilities to manage their businesses profitably. Other employment venues as a counselor and teacher helped to foster Joanne’s skills as a listener and educator. In 2002, Joanne was recognized for her leadership contributions with the New York City YWCA Woman Achiever Award.
